KBS unveils the first images of " To My Beloved Thief" a new sageuk combining romance, action and fantasy. Nam Ji-hyun stars as a heroine with an unusual destiny, torn between healing and rebellion.
A woman who cares by day... and defies the mighty by night
Hong Eun-jo is no ordinary heroine. The daughter of a nobleman and a commoner, she occupies a fragile place in the social hierarchy, but there's nothing fragile about her character. On the contrary: she protects the weak, refuses to bow to the powerful and lives by inflexible morals.
By day, she becomes the angel of the Hyeminseo dispensary, watching over the sick with luminous gentleness. By night, she assumes the identity of Gil Dong, a kind-hearted thief who preys on corrupt officials to redistribute to the needy. The new images sum up this duality with finesse: a warm smile in the daylight, a serious gaze and a mask ready to be donned when the sun disappears.
When fate binds her to a stalking prince
Her secret existence is turned upside down when she crosses paths with Prince Yi-yeol, sent to capture Gil Dong. But an unexpected event upsets the established order: their souls are exchanged. Suddenly, the thief and the prince find themselves trapped in each other's bodies... and forced to work together to survive.
Another visual shows Hong Eun-jo dressed in a refined silk gown, looking like a young noblewoman in perfect control. A deceptive image, concealing an inner warrior ready to risk everything for her own. It's in this contrast, between delicacy and daring, that the richness of the character emerges.
In this role, Nam Ji-hyun promises a nuanced performance, driven by instinctive emotion and an inner strength rare in historical heroines.
The drama will start airing on January 3, 2026 (waiting for an OTT).
