tvN's new historical-fantasy drama, " Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" also available on Netflix from August 23, lifts the veil on its plot with a tasty teaser featuring romance, rivalries and dishes worthy of a royal feast.
Inspired by a successful web novel, this series features Lim Yoona in the role of Yeon Ji-young, an award-winning French chef who, after an unforeseen accident, finds herself thrown... 500 years into the past. There, she crosses paths with the king Lee Heon (Lee Chae-min), reputed to be one of the greatest tyrants of his time, but also a gourmet.
The teaser begins with the accident that propels Ji Young into this unknown world. As soon as she arrives, she's chased by the king, bow in hand, before ending up tied up like a criminal. She soon reveals her true identity: she's a chieftain. Not knowing how to get home, she decides to play her best card: her cooking.
Steak, pasta and other dishes unknown at the time: at first skeptical, the king eventually succumbed to his dishes, revealing an unexpected gourmet delight. As his interest grew, the jealousy of his concubine Kang Mok-joo (Kang Han-na) intensifies. The latter throws murderous glances at Ji Young and warns, "The King is interested in this girl...I won't let it go."
Tension mounts when Ji Young finds herself locked in a wooden punishment frame, foreshadowing dark shenanigans at the palace. Between an unpredictable king, a rival ready for anything and her desire to get back to her old life, will the young leader be able to pull through?
