tvN has unveiled a new teaser for its upcoming romantic drama « Our Universe« offering a glimpse into the very first (and chaotic) encounter between Bae In-hyuk and Roh Jeong-eui. An opening full of tension and awkwardness, which immediately lays the foundations for a relationship destined to evolve.
Our Universe follows the journey of a brother-in-law and sister-in-law who, despite difficult beginnings, find themselves forced to live together in order to raise their 20-month-old nephew Woo Joo, following the sudden disappearance of their elders. A forced cohabitation that upsets their bearings and transforms their daily lives.
From misunderstanding to unexpected family bond
In this teaser, Sun Tae-hyung and Woo Hyun-jin meet for the first time following an exchange on a second-hand goods platform. Things immediately get heated when Hyun-jin accuses Tae-hyung of selling a fake, starting the conversation off on the wrong foot. Annoyed, she cuts the conversation short: «I don't feel like talking to someone so rude. Leave.»
But fate doesn't intend to stop there. Shortly afterwards, Woo Hyun-jin attends a dinner party at the home of his older sister Woo Hyun-joo (Park Ji-hyun) and her husband... only to discover to his astonishment that Sun Tae-hyung is the latter's younger brother. Faced with her incredulity, he calmly tells her: «Should I call you sister-in-law now?» A revelation that instantly transforms their conflicted relationship into a family bond impossible to ignore.
The teaser concludes with their meeting with Woo Joo, the child who will turn their lives upside down. The 2 characters then share a poignant reflection: «Another universe (Woo Joo) suddenly fell into my universe, where I had once been everything.» A sentence that perfectly sums up the heart of the drama: the unexpected arrival of a child as an emotional tipping point.
Between misunderstandings, new responsibilities and budding feelings, Our Universe promises a bittersweet romance, with a rocky start and a gradual evolution of relationships.
