Ahn Hyo-seop is set to return in a new romantic comedy with “Sold Out on You”in which he reveals an unexpected transformation. The actor plays Matthew Lee, a character as atypical as he is fascinating, juggling several lives.
The drama tells the story of Matthew Lee, nicknamed “Mechoori” (“quail”), an amusing nod to the sound of his name in Korean. A farmer by profession, he shares his daily life with Dam Ye-jin (Chae Won-bin), a famous TV host suffering from severe insomnia.

A multi-faceted character
Behind his sometimes cold exterior, Matthew Lee actually hides a caring heart. Very involved in the life of his village, he regularly helps the inhabitants by responding to their needs and requests.
But his business doesn't stop there. He is also the only one to cultivate the white nuri mushroom, a rare ingredient considered miraculous in the cosmetics industry.
At the same time, Matthew Lee runs a company specializing in natural ingredients and also works as a researcher in cosmetics development. Between farming, business management and research, he leads a particularly intense lifestyle.
This multiplicity of roles raises a central question: what is it that drives Matthew Lee to give so relentlessly of himself?

A transformation that's already attracting attention
The first images to be unveiled showcase the character's diversity. Matthew Lee can be seen as a farmer in a straw hat, or as an elegant businessman.
Able to move from manual labor in the fields to leadership responsibilities, he exudes a charisma that varies according to the situation, promising a rich, nuanced role.

Having made her mark in dramas such as “Dr. Romantic”, “Lovers of the Red Sky” and “A Business Proposal”, Ahn Hyo-seop is already raising expectations for this new project.
“Sold Out on You” will air from April 22 on SBS and is available on Netflix.
