Good news for fans of romantic comedies: Ahn Bo-hyun and Lee Joo-bin will form the main duo of tvN's next drama, Spring Fever (working title), due in the second half of 2025. The project promises a delightful blend of humor, emotion and romance in a soothing seaside setting.
A new start in the countryside
Adapted from a popular web novel, Spring Fever tells the story of Yoon Bom, a high school teacher who, after a difficult period in Seoul, decides to leave everything behind and move to the peaceful coastal town of Sinsu. Closed to others and scarred by her past, she begins a new life as a substitute teacher. But her encounter with Seon Jae-kyu, a resident as unpredictable as he is endearing, will shake up her routine and bring back emotions she thought were buried.
A promising duo
As Seon Jae-kyu, Ahn Bo-hyun (seen in Yumi's Cells, Military Prosecutor Doberman, Flex X Cop)) embodies a colorful character, at once rough-hewn and terribly sincere. Behind his tough-guy exterior lies a man with a big heart, devotion and a wicked sense of humor. The actor adds a touch of physical comedy, with a regional accent to boot, as he uses the dialect of his native Busan for the first time on screen.
Facing him, Lee Joo-bin (Queen of Tears, Money Heist Korea) will play Yoon Bom, a once popular and vivacious woman now in search of solitude and reconstruction. The actress, known for her ability to embody nuanced characters, will bring a special sensitivity to this heroine in transition.
An experienced creative team
The series will be directed by Park Won-guk, whose modern style we know from Marry My Husband and Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist. The screenplay is by Kim Ah-jungalready acclaimed for her work on The Secret Life of My Secretary. Together, they intend to offer a refreshing romance, tinged with humor and carried by colorful characters.
The Ahn Bo-hyun / Lee Joo-bin duo promises charming chemistry, between awkwardness, budding complicity and tender moments in a small village where everyone's in everybody's business. According to the production team, Spring Fever will offer "a cocktail of funny and touching scenes, with a comforting atmosphere that will warm the audience's heart".
Spring Fever will be broadcast on tvN from December 22, 2025.
