Netflix is preparing a new office romantic comedy that could well appeal to fans of modern romances. Entitled « A Proper Romance« the series will feature Park Hyung-sik and Park Gyu-young in a story where professional hierarchy and feelings intertwine.

Thought of as a stylish, topical rom-com, the series will be a Netflix Original produced by Big Ocean ENM, with Nam Sung-woo directing (Useless Lies) and Kim Ha-na on the script (My Heart Is Beating). The drama is expected to feature 12 episodes, even though filming has not yet begun.

When roles reverse at the office

A Proper Romance revolves around a turn of events as ironic as they are promising. Na Jeong-seok, once Woo A-mi's military subordinate, has now become the confident (even arrogant) CEO of a fast-growing start-up. Fate intervenes when Woo A-mi joins the company... as an employee reporting to him.

This unexpected face-to-face encounter between 2 characters linked by the past immediately sets up a delicate tension. The inverted hierarchical relationship brings back memories, unspoken words and frustrations, while opening the door to a romance built on pride, awkwardness and an attraction impossible to ignore. Between professional rivalry and repressed feelings, the series promises to explore the power dynamics at work as much as the hesitations of the heart.
