tvN's upcoming romantic drama, « Our Universe« recently lifted the veil on the behind-the-scenes of its very first script reading. From the very first images shared, one thing is clear: the atmosphere on set is already marked by human warmth, collective energy, and a beautiful camaraderie between the actors... including the youngest member of the cast.
An improvised family that comes to life as soon as you start reading
At this first meeting, Roh Jeong-eui, Bae In-hyuk and Park Seo-ham quickly slipped into the roles of their characters. But it was above all their natural interaction with the young actor Park Yoo-ho, who plays little Woo-joo, caught everyone's attention. Smiles, tender looks, and spontaneous gestures gave the impression that this improvised family had existed long before filming began.
Bae In-hyuk plays Sun Tae-hyung, an assistant photographer who appears brusque at first glance, but whose sensitivity gradually comes to the fore. Opposite him, Roh Jeong-eui plays Woo Hyun-jin, a bright young woman whose life is turned upside down when she loses her sister and finds herself responsible for her 20-month-old nephew. Despite her grief, her character finds the strength to move forward thanks to the presence of the child.
Between romance, grief, and shared daily life
Park Seo-ham completes this triangle with the role of Park Yoon-sung, a brilliant young team leader and Woo Hyun-jin's first love from college. His apparent calm is put to the test when she joins his company, rekindling emotions he thought were buried.
The drama centers on the forced cohabitation of a brother-in-law and sister-in-law who are complete opposites, forced to learn to live together in order to raise Woo-joo. The actors summed up the spirit of the series with this sentence: «By living together and squabbling, they also grow up together.», suggesting a romance built on conflict, emotional healing, and everyday connections.
Our Universe promises to be a bittersweet tale, blending unexpected parenthood, personal reconstruction, and budding feelings.
The series will begin on February 4 on tvN.
