Netflix unveils a poster and a chilling teaser for its new series “If Wishes Could Kill”a horrific drama centered on an application as mysterious as it is dangerous.
The story follows a group of high school students whose lives are turned upside down when they use “GIRIGO”, an application capable of granting wishes... but at a terrible price. They soon discover that they are now doomed, with a countdown clock that brings them inexorably closer to death.
With its blend of the supernatural, tension and survival, the series promises an oppressive atmosphere right from the start.
A race against death triggered by a simple wish
The main poster immediately sets an eerie mood. Behind the banal appearance of a classroom, the cold, frozen faces of the pupils create a palpable sense of unease. Some of the phones glow with an eerie red light, while the “GIRIGO” application is already at the center of the threat.
The teaser develops this tension. It all begins when a student proudly presents the app after getting a perfect grade. The principle is simple: enter your information, formulate a video wish, then send it.
But when the first users receive the message “Your wish has been granted”, a mysterious countdown begins, marking the start of a spiral of strange and terrifying events.
Unstoppable, this “death timer” quickly becomes a source of anxiety, reinforced by the warning: “The countdown to death begins.”
In the face of incomprehension, a question arises: “Is this app possessed or what?” As fear sets in, the characters desperately try to understand and break the curse, not least with the help of mysterious rituals.
“If Wishes Could Kill” will be available on Netflix from April 24.
