Ambition, heritage and rivalry: the drama “Reborn Rookie”intensifies its plot with a confrontation between brother and sister, each desperate to take control.
The story follows Kang Yong-ho, played by Son Hyun-joo, a powerful ruler who, after an accident, finds himself living in the body of a young man, upsetting the balance within his empire.
In this context, the question of succession becomes central, directly opposing his two children.
A rivalry between ambition and revenge
Jeon Hye-jin plays Kang Jae-kyung, an executive determined to take control of the group without delay. Driven by boundless ambition, she acts with cool-headedness and doesn't hesitate to do whatever it takes to achieve her goal.
Facing her, Jin Goo plays Kang Jae-sung, the eldest member of the family. More discreet in appearance, he relies on his status and alliances to defend his position. Behind this attitude, however, lies a deep sense of inferiority, fed by constant comparisons with his sister.
The new images highlight their differences. On the one hand, Kang Jae-kyung displays total mastery and cool elegance. On the other, Kang Jae-sung lets his emotions shine through, revealing a more instinctive approach.
The actors themselves spoke about their characters. Jeon Hye-jin explains: «Kang Jae Kyung's strength lies in his determination to get things done, no matter what it takes,» underlining his uncompromising ambition. For his part, Jin Goo says: «Kang Jae Sung's greatest strength is his humanity, hidden behind his apparent casualness.»
The drama will be broadcast from May 30 on jTBC and available on Viki.
