Netflix has just confirmed the release date of its new Korean series, As You Stood Byexpected on November 7. Brought to you by Jeon So-nee and Lee Yoo-miThis drama promises to be dark, intense and deeply psychological.
A story of survival and complicity
The series tells the story of Eun Su (Jeon So-nee) and Hui Su (Lee Yoo-mi), 2 women bound by their respective pain. Eun Su carries the weight of a past marked by her father's domestic violence, which she has long tried to ignore. As for Hui Su, she lives a suffocating marriage with her violent husband, Jin Pyo (Jang Seung-jo). Driven to the brink by a life with no way out, Hui Su considers ending it all, until Eun Su suggests the unthinkable: kill her husband to free herself once and for all.

An oppressive and striking teaser
The trailer immediately plunges us into a suffocating atmosphere of traumatic memories and despair. Eun Su confides: "There are so many things I've run away from in my life. When I was little, I thought my father would eventually calm down... But he never stopped hurting my mother."
These reminiscences highlight a cycle of suffering that seems to be repeating itself. For her part, Hui Su sums up her day-to-day life in the grip of her father: "I tried to stand up to him. To run away. But I always come back here." Until that fateful sentence that changes everything: "I can't take it anymore, not one more day."
That's when Eun Su drops the proposal that seals their fate: "Let's kill him. Your husband."
Around these two women revolves Jin Pyoan abusive husband who alternates between lavish gifts and unbearable violence. So Baek (Lee Moo-saeng), a mysterious figure who observes their descent into hell.
An appointment not to be missed
With its oppressive atmosphere, powerful themes and talented duo of actresses, As You Stood By promises to be a landmark series of the year. A plunge into the abyss of domestic violence and despair, where the question is not just how to escape... but how far to go to survive.
