Kim Soo-hyun and his agency Goldmedalist issued a lengthy official statement following the validation of the arrest warrant for Kim Se-ui, representative of the YouTube channel HoverLab (also known as GaroSero Research Institute).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this press release, the agency asserts that several elements presented publicly against the actor were falsified or manipulated, and thanks the people who supported the actor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to provide the following statement regarding the multiple complaints and lawsuits filed by Kim Soo Hyun and our company against Kim Se Eui of HoverLab (Garosero Research Institute).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the results of the investigation, the various allegations and evidence raised by HoverLab against Kim Soo Hyun were found to be false. In particular, the KakaoTalk conversations revealed during the press conference were determined to have been fabricated and altered from conversations involving a third party unrelated to Kim Soo Hyun, while the deceased\u2019s voice recordings were also confirmed to be manipulated materials generated using AI technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, due to the seriousness of the charges\u2014including violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation through the dissemination of false information), violations of the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking, violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (distribution of illegally filmed materials and coercion involving such materials), and threats\u2014the court has issued an arrest warrant for Kim Se Eui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We sincerely thank the investigative authorities for their efforts in uncovering the truth based on objective evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a press conference one year ago, Kim Soo Hyun stated:\n\u201cI won\u2019t ask you to believe me. I will make sure to prove it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The past year for Kim Soo Hyun has been devoted solely to keeping that promise. At last, through lawful procedures and a thorough investigation, the truth has been proven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Se-ui officially detained<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On May 26, 2026, the Seoul Central District Court officially validated the arrest warrant for Kim Se-ui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judge Boo Dong-sik ruled that there was a \u00abrisk of destroying evidence and absconding\u00bb to justify his detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrest warrant validation hearing lasted around 4 hours before the court officially confirmed the arrest in the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Se-ui is being sued for defamation via news networks, alleged dissemination of false information, violations related to sex crime laws, as well as several charges related to private content and harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An affair that became a huge media scandal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since the beginning of 2025, the case has become one of the most important scandals affecting the South Korean entertainment industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Se-ui and HoverLab publicly accused Kim Soo-hyun of having had a relationship with Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor between 2015 and 2018. The YouTuber also claimed that financial pressure from the actor's agency contributed to Kim Sae-ron's death in February 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Soo-hyun has always denied all the accusations. After several months of investigation, the South Korean police now consider that a number of publicly broadcast elements may have been false, manipulated or insufficiently verified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Se-ui's official arrest now marks a major turning point in this highly-publicized case in South Korea, and could speed up future legal proceedings linked to the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
