The talented Lim YoonA<\/a> <\/strong>is back on the small screen in a role as original as it is delicious. In Bon App\u00e9tit, Your Majesty<\/a><\/strong> (\ud3ed\uad70\uc758 \uc170\ud504<\/em>), the star plays a French chef propelled... 500 years into the past. A drama combining romantic comedy, time travel and palace intrigue, to be discovered from August on tvN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A star chef facing a tyrannical king<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

YoonA plays Yeon Ji-young, a renowned chef in a 3-star restaurant. But her life is turned upside down when a mysterious event sends her back in time to the Joseon era. She lands in the \"sura-gan\", the royal kitchen, in charge of preparing the palace's official meals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His greatest challenge? Cooking for a king as capricious as he is feared. Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae-min), a violent monarch with extremely refined tastes, rules with an iron fist... including what he puts on his plate. The slightest mistake could cost Ji Young dearly, and he finds himself in a veritable culinary survival game<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A royal fusion of modern cuisine and period gastronomy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The drama features a veritable collision of eras. Yeon Ji-young has lost none of her chef's reflexes: she examines ingredients meticulously, prepares dishes with concentration, and runs the palace kitchens with authority despite a totally unfamiliar environment. In her traditional sooksoo<\/strong> (chef de cuisine royale), she brilliantly fuses modern recipes with old-fashioned techniques, going so far as to teach royal palates the subtleties of contemporary cuisine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her dishes intrigue and seduce, and could well upset the strict codes of court cooking. But in a tense political context, where every meal can conceal a power play, Yeon Ji-young will have to show more than just culinary talent: instinct, adaptation... and a lot of courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lim YoonA once again promises to shine with her expressive performance, full of warmth and mischief. Her performance should add that unique touch of flavor that makes all the difference, like a few drops of sesame oil on a good bibimbap.
