The long-awaited « Bloodhounds 2 » unveils new images featuring Woo Do-hwan, Lee Sang-yi and Rain, heralding an even more intense season.
First released in 2023, the series follows 2 young men drawn into the dangerous world of loan sharks. Having dismantled a network of illegal loan sharks in the first season, Gun-woo and Woo-jin are now preparing to take on a new, far more powerful adversary.
In this new season, they will have to deal with a world underground boxing league directed by Baek Jeong, a man as charismatic as he is fearsome.
Gun-woo returns more determined than ever
The new images show Gun-wooplayed by Woo Do-hwan, ready to fight again.
After taking on a group of illegal loan sharks, he's gearing up for another battle to protect the people who matter to him. With his intense gaze and bandaged hands, he seems more determined than ever.
The actor explained that he wanted to show his character's evolution: «Compared to season 1, Gun-woo's environment has changed, especially his house, and he pursues his dream of becoming a champion with a more relaxed state of mind. Three years have passed, so I tried to show his growth, both physically and mentally.»
A stronger friendship and a new great antagonist
On his side, Woo-jinperformed by Lee Sang-yi, now plays the role of Gun-woo's trainer.
Once rivals in the ring, the 2 men have developed a strong friendship after going through many trials together. Now, Woo-jin supports Gun-woo in his quest to become champion.
Lee Sang-yi said, «Woo-jin, with his big heart and love for boxing, becomes Gun-woo's trainer. They become inseparable friends, brothers and family.»
The season also introduces a formidable new adversary: Baek Jeongperformed by Rain.
At the head of a worldwide illegal boxing league fueled by massive bets and an international audience, this character stands out for his ambition and cruelty.
Rain described his role in these terms: «Baek Jeong is an extremely cruel human weapon, without blood or tears.»
He adds, «He dreamed of becoming a champion, but after he failed, he set up an underground boxing league in the shadows and became its king.»
The series «Bloodhounds 2» will be available on April 3 on Netflix.
