KBS has unveiled a new teaser for « The Husband »his next romantic thriller, starring Namkoong Min and Lee Seol. You know how much we love Namkoong Min, and seeing this trailer increases the anticipation around this drama!
After a first glimpse focusing on the disappearance of the hero's wife, this new trailer reveals an even darker and more mysterious plot, where the line between victim and suspect seems increasingly blurred.
A wedding on the brink of explosion
The teaser opens with Kang Tae-joo, a brilliant neurosurgeon played by Namkoong Min, undergoing surgery in a particularly tense atmosphere. At the same time, his relationship with his wife Go Se-yoon seems to be deteriorating rapidly.
In one scene, she tells him: «It's all your fault. Moments later, Kang Tae-joo himself mentions a separation, suggesting that their marriage is in serious crisis.
A husband turned suspect
The mood changes abruptly when Kang Tae-joo finds himself being questioned by the police.
An investigator then asks him a particularly disturbing question: «Did you hire a stranger yesterday to murder your wife?» During this interrogation, the teaser also shows a white car being pushed into a lake, casting doubt on Go Se-yoon's fate.
This new sequence reinforces the questions surrounding the main character: is he really trying to save his wife, or is he hiding something darker?
A disappearance that hides many secrets
Several scenes then show the couple verbally sparring. At a reception, Go Se-yoon clearly states: «I won't divorce you. I don't want to do anything you want.»
For his part, Kang Tae-joo seems unable to understand his wife's true intentions. As tensions mount, the trailer concludes with a particularly disturbing scene. Sitting in the back of a car after drinking, Kang Tae-joo addresses the driver: «Get rid of my wife.»
A shocking phrase that could well hide a reality totally different from what it seems to suggest.
A highly anticipated psychological thriller
With its many grey areas, ambiguous characters and plot built around a mysterious disappearance, «The Husband» promises to be one of the most intriguing Korean thrillers of the summer. The series also features Kim Dae-myung, Lee Sang-hee and Park Byung-eun in key roles.
