"Fifties Professionals”continues to unveil its key characters just a few weeks before its broadcast. Between a stubborn prosecutor, a former agent turned criminal and a businessman under pressure, the new images give a glimpse of an intrigue mixing corruption, politics and investigation.
The series follows 3 men (played by Shin Ha-kyun, Oh Jung-se and Heo Sung-tae) once at the top of their respective estates, now exiled to the remote island of Yeongseon after a mysterious incident ten years earlier. Together, they seek to uncover the truth behind the events that turned their lives upside down.
A prosecutor willing to do anything to get to the truth
Kim Shin-rok plays Kang Young-ae, a prosecutor driven by a deep sense of justice. A former policewoman turned prosecutor, she refuses to accept that certain criminals can escape responsibility thanks to their power or connections.

Even after being demoted for investigating internal corruption, she continues to pursue her investigations with determination.

The new images show her searching for clues, surrounded by files and press clippings, trying to piece together a complex case. Another scene hints at a turning point in her investigation, when she finally seems to uncover an important element.
Powerful enemies at the heart of the plot
The drama also introduces Han Kyung-wook, played by Kim Sang-kyung in a special appearance. A former elite secret service agent, he gradually sank into illegal activities linked to North Korea before building up a vast criminal network.

Now involved in politics, his ambition is to transform Yeongseon Island into a major center of crime and trafficking to further increase his influence.
Alongside him, Kwon Yul plays Chairman Do, an elegant and charismatic businessman in appearance, but in reality acting under Han Kyung-wook's orders. Behind his perfect image lies a character constantly worried about being abandoned by those who manipulate him.

The production team explained that the participation of Kim Sang-kyung and Kwon Yul is linked to their relationship with director Han Dong-hwa, adding that their performances will considerably enhance the intensity of the plot.
The drama will air from May 22 and will be available on Viki. A series we're looking forward to, not least because of its 3 main actors and its quality secondary cast.
