The drama “Fifties Professionals”is finally unveiling its first teaser, featuring the unexpected return of three men once at the top, played by Shin Ha-kyun, Oh Jung-se and Heo Sung-tae.
This action-comedy follows fifty-somethings with impressive pasts, forced back into service after being cast aside from their former lives.
Ancient legends forgotten
The teaser begins by looking back at their glorious past. Jung Ho-myung, played by Shin Ha-kyun, was an elite secret service agent. Bong Je-soon, played by Oh Jung-se, was outstanding in the field. As for Kang Beom-ryong, played by Heo Sung-tae, He once dominated the criminal underworld.
But their present stands in stark contrast to that past. Ho-myung now leads a discreet life as a chef, marked by the years and his disillusions. Je-soon lives with no memory of his former identity, while Beom-ryong runs a convenience store far from any influence.
An action-packed second chance
Between humor and melancholy, the teaser shows these “former pros” confronted with their current reality. But something happens to change everything.
When Ho-myung decides there's still time to act, the three men gradually return to their old posture. Gestures return, determination is reborn, and everyone seems ready to regain what they have lost.
The phrase “I still have 50 percent of my life left” clearly announces their determination not to give up and to fight again.
The drama is due on May 22 at 9:50pm (Korean time) on MBC (awaiting an international platform).
