The drama “Agent Kim Reactivated”has officially confirmed its broadcast for June 26 on SBS in Korea (and on Netflix worldwide).
Adapted from the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, the drama will follow Kim Bu-jang, a seemingly ordinary family man whose violent past resurfaces when his only daughter is kidnapped. To save her, he becomes «the most dangerous man in the world» once again.
So Ji-sub leads cast of “fathers turned monsters”
So Ji-sub will play Kim Bu-jang, an employee of a medium-sized savings bank who in reality hides a long past as a secret agent linked to operations between North and South Korea.
The drama promises particularly brutal and intense action scenes, described as even more powerful than those in its previous project “Mercy for None”.
Alongside him, Choi Dae-hoon will play Seong Han-soo, a former taekwondo gold medalist turned dojo manager, while Yoon Kyung-ho will play Park Jin-cheol, a former soldier who once fought on the battlefield.
The production presents the drama as a “Dad Universe”, focusing on fathers ready to do anything to protect their children. The drama is based on a popular spin-off from Park Tae-jun's famous webtoon universe, to which «Lookism» and “Viral Hit” also belong.
The series will be written by Nam Dae-jung and directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun, known for their work on “Voice 2”, “Tracer” and “Wonderful World”.
An explosive first script reading
SBS has also unveiled the first images from the official script reading featuring So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho, Joo Sang-wook, Son Na-eun and Kim Sung-kyu.
Son Na-eun will play a colleague of Kim Bu-jang's who's hiding her own secrets, while Joo Sang-wook will play a powerful businessman who'll do anything to get what he wants. According to the network, the atmosphere was already marked by strong chemistry between the actors.
“Agent Kim Reactivated” will succeed “My Royal Nemesis” and begin airing on June 26 on SBS and Netflix simultaneously. Who can't wait to watch it? 🙂
